An engine oil change in the grand scheme of things isn’t really that big of a deal. It’s really just puling that truck in, a 20 to 30 minute fluid and filter swap, and you’re back on your way. At least that’s how it’s supposed to work.
Even though it might be less than an hour, time in the shop is money – but the business case for extending an engine oil drain is mostly just buying less engine oil over a truck’s lifecycle – that is, assuming your PMs are on point.
