I am the founder/CEO of Safety Walk 360 LLC. I have a background in Oil/Gas pipeline management and Aviation maintenance. My passion has now grown into the safety industry. About 7 years ago I witnessed my neighbor back his vehicle over my son. My son is fine, thank god!
In my years with corporate America we always tried to instill the first move forward mentality with our drivers. We implemented the orange cones and a reminder sticker on the window. We were still having 1st movement accidents.. We had relied on the honesty system too much.
After my sons backing incident I proceeded to develop the SW360. The SW360 is a device that forces the driver to perform a vehicle safety walk around by installing a wireless button on the front and another at the rear of the vehicle. The driver presses the buttons (signifying they viewed their surroundings), then starts the vehicle and proceeds on their route. If the buttons are not pressed and the vehicle moves, an alarm will sound and will not cease until the vehicle is stopped and the walk around is performed. Its that simple!
500 deaths and 15000 injuries occur each year due to 1st movement vehicle accidents. Those numbers can drastically reduce with this system.
