OTA Institute: Cargo Tank Test and Inspection Workshop

OTA is excited to introduce the Cargo Tank Test and Inspection Workshop, in partnership with Fleener Consulting LLC. Led by industry veteran Arthur Fleener, this three-day virtual class from May 20-22 focuses on the essential tests and inspections mandated by the USDOT for specification cargo tanks.
Key topics covered in-depth include requirements outlined in Part 180, testing of cargo tanks including:
External visual inspections
Internal visual inspections
Pressure tests
Leakage tests
Thickness test
Lining inspections
The workshop goes beyond, addressing special permits, interpretations, procedures for renewing or obtaining a new CT number, employee training mandates, record-keeping, and registered inspector requirements.
It's crucial to note that USDOT requires this training at least once every 3 years. Failure to maintain current training is a common violation, leading to substantial fines. Ensure your team is well-trained and up-to-date.
Attendance costs $500 for OTA members and $600 for non-members. The virtual training, conducted via Zoom from 9:00 am EST to 3:30 pm EST each day, includes a cargo tank regulations book and a comprehensive student manual.
